The Aerious Community

We live in conscious community

We live in conscious community with people, plants. places, unseen natural beings, and so forth, and all are part of our community. The humyn element consists of between 4 and 10 individuals, and fluctuates seasonally. The land is being stewarded by us, and this is factored into land use planning, residency, and other decision making. We are privately owned and governed thru a council (Aerious, which administrates our classes and events, has a separate council). We believe in simple living, permaculture and spiritually based, and have been moving toward more sustainability as a goal over the last two decades.

We create and manage our own water systems involving springs and creeks.

We create our own power thru Solar, and are open to researching and developing additional alternatives. We are off the grid but not yet fossil free.

We gather abundant local firewood for heating and cooking in winter.

We experiment with alternatives such as Solar cookers, heaters, showers, passive Solar, etc.

We have created our structures from either recycled or sustainable harvested woods and other materials.

We grow alot of our own produceWe grow alot of our own produce and wildcraft herbs for healing. We live close to the earth, along a salmon spawning creek near spotted owls, in a naturally healthy and clarifying environment, and promote interspecies cooperation thru sustained example.

We are open to visitors by arrangement, usually beginning with a tree day visit, followed by the possible return for a month long stay, which then can be extended to a longer residency by agreement. We are also open to community oriented visitors who wish to do a several day to several week stay on work trade for those earnestly on the "community survey tour".

If coming, please bring ample food and bedding and expect to exchange labor here at an average of four hours per day. We review residency applications at one month, three months, and occasionally after.

We have a weekly sharing circle, clearing and catching up, followed by lining out goals and time related directives for tasks and work during the coming week various tasks vary with weather, season, relative importance to the Center as a whole, interests, etc.
